Webster Comfort Care Home: Where Love, Dignity, and Family Come First

A Personal Story

In my father’s final days, he was cared for at the Shepherd Home in Penfield — a place built on compassion, dignity, and peace.

It gave me the chance to be his son again, instead of his caregiver.

He had actually volunteered there himself for years before becoming too ill. In the end, that home gave us time together as a family — not wrapped up in worry, but wrapped in love.

That experience changed my life.

While my father wasn’t cared for at Webster Comfort Care Home specifically, it is a nearly identical hospice house — just more local to our community.

That’s why I’ve chosen to support it now. Because every town deserves a place like this, and families in Webster deserve that same dignity at the end of life.

What Makes Webster Comfort Care Home Special

Webster Comfort Care Home is not a hospital. It’s not a sterile facility with visiting hours and clinical walls. It is truly a home.

Here, families can bring food, decorate rooms, celebrate birthdays, even welcome pets — all while spending undistracted, loving time with their loved ones.

Residents’ rooms are warm and inviting, with Christmas trees in the winter and family celebrations all year round. There's even a guest room for out-of-town family members to stay close.

There are no visiting hours. No limits on love. Just time, dignity, and peace.

The Webster Comfort Care Home team cares not just for those who are terminally ill — they care for the entire family. They make sure the final days are filled with connection, not burden.

They help families experience a dignified, peaceful end of life — and make it as positive as possible.

100% Community Funded

Webster Comfort Care Home receives no insurance money, no government funding, and no hospice reimbursements.

They are completely dependent on donations and community fundraisers to stay open and continue serving Webster residents.

  • Over 100 volunteers serve four shifts a day to care for residents and support their families.

  • Only one full-time employee — their incredible Executive Director, Julianne — keeps the heart of the home beating every day.

  • Every dollar raised supports direct care, maintenance, and special projects, like the new front porch they are working to build.

This is truly a community-run mission — one that depends on all of us.

Why It Matters for Webster

  • They prioritize Webster residents and people already receiving home care here.

Webster Comfort Care Home gave me and my family an irreplaceable gift. Today, they continue to give that same gift to dozens of families in our town every year.
