Strong Schools, Stronger Webster

Why I’m Committed to Education

If we want a thriving, resilient Webster tomorrow, we have to start with our kids today.

That means schools that work, students who feel supported, and a Town government that has their back — every step of the way.

Our schools and Town government have been out of sync for too long, and it’s our students — and our community — who are paying the price.  It’s time to change that.

The Problem: A Growing Crisis for Students and Schools

Rising Mental Health Struggles

  • Nationwide, teen mental health challenges have skyrocketed in the last decade.

  • In Monroe County, reports of anxiety and depression among teens continue to rise.

  • Social media, screen addiction, and post-COVID stress have made the classroom a heavier place than ever before.

Declining Academic Outcomes

  • Across the country, test scores in reading and math have dropped to levels not seen in decades.

  • Webster is not immune — and if we don’t act, it will only get worse.

A Lack of Alignment Between Town and School

  • But we’re one community. One Webster.

  • Our kids don’t distinguish between "Town issues" and "School issues" — and neither should our leaders.

My Plan: Uniting for Student Success

We can't change Big Tech in Webster — but we can build a support system strong enough to meet the moment.

1. Create a Formal Partnership Between the Town and School District

  • Regular, coordinated meetings between school and Town leadership

  • Joint planning on mental health initiatives, infrastructure, and family services

  • Shared responsibility for the long-term health of our community’s children

2. Prioritize Student Mental Health

  • Support expanded access to school counselors and social workers

  • Advocate for youth-centered programming through Parks & Rec

  • Promote safe, healthy spaces where kids can unplug and be kids

3. Build a “One Webster” Strategy

  • Every town decision — from development to budgeting — should consider its impact on schools

  • A thriving school system strengthens property values, public safety, and the future workforce

  • We’ll bring Town and School priorities into alignment to serve the full community

Investing in Kids is Investing in All of Us

A strong school system doesn’t just benefit students — it lifts up our entire town.

It’s time we treat education like the cornerstone it is.

With your support, I’ll fight for a government that doesn’t just work with our schools — but works for them.
