A Responsible Budget for Webster

Why I’m Speaking Out

Webster families are already feeling the pinch — and the Town Board’s decisions are making it worse.

Our debt service has tripled. And without a plan, your real estate taxes could be next.

I’m not here to scare people. I’m here because we need change.

As a father, a homeowner, and a lifelong Webster resident, I know we can’t afford leadership that reacts wildly — swinging between total inaction and reckless spending.

It’s time to stop the chaos and start planning.

The Problem: A Town Budget Without a Roadmap

For years, Webster’s approach to budgeting has lacked common sense and direction. Here’s what’s happening:

Extreme Fiscal Swings

  • One administration slashes budgets to the point of disrepair.

  • The next opens the floodgates on spending — with no clear plan and no end in sight.

No Vision for the Future

  • Big decisions are made with no blueprint.

  • We’re spending money today without knowing what we want Webster to look like 5, 10, or 20 years from now.

A Communication Failure

  • Most residents don’t understand the town budget — and that’s not their fault.

  • Presentations are confusing, outdated, or just plain boring.

  • If people don’t know what’s being spent, how can they hold anyone accountable?

Exploding Debt

  • Webster’s debt service has tripled.

  • Imagine your mortgage tripling — and having no explanation why.

  • That’s where we are right now.

My Plan: Transparency + Long-Term Strategy

We need more than a budget. We need a plan — and we need leadership that knows how to stick to it.

1. Build a Long-Term Financial Roadmap

Just like you wouldn’t drive to dinner without knowing where you’re going, we shouldn’t budget without a destination. We’ll set 5-, 10-, and 20-year goals and work backward from there — responsibly and predictably.

2. Make the Budget Clear and Accessible

It’s not just about numbers. It’s about trust. We’ll redesign how we present the town’s finances — no more useless PowerPoints. You should know where your money’s going — and why.

3. End Fiscal Extremes

Balance matters. We’ll invest in what Webster needs — infrastructure, safety, greenspace — without blindly approving projects that put us in debt.

4. Bring Fiscal Responsibility Back

Oversight. Accountability. Prioritization.

Every budget should ask:

  • What’s the outcome?

  • Who benefits?

  • Is this the smartest use of our tax dollars?

Leadership That Plans Ahead

We can’t afford more reactionary budgeting.

We need leaders who will:

  • Look ahead

  • Spend wisely

  • Communicate clearly

  • And put you — the taxpayer — at the center of every decision

With your support, I’ll bring the transparency, responsibility, and vision Webster deserves.

Let’s fix the budget — before it’s too late.
